poems of the shepard . . .

~ i'm living in the fields, the fields that grow with
in and that there is without is coming from
about. the fields, they look so green, when the time
has been reborn, and all that is forelorn has
cast it's shadows now.

~ i pause to look at the long story stretched out
across the plains. i know i have no doubt that so
soon we'll cast in the rieghns.

~ looming in a nearby city is a place that looks so
pretty. when i cast my nets about i wonder where
the grass lay out?

~ a memorial ~

Here's my mom. Her name was Rosalind. She wanted me to put up this picture, or one similar to it. She very specifically requested it. So, but maybe' i'll put up the other one at some later time. I still have the scarf she's wearing.  It's very sixties.  She stared out as a sales clerk in a local clothing goods store,  & eventually ended up selling painting classes to people in the store of a family friend.    I guess she made some extra money that way,  and it got her out of the house kind of. She worked on portraits, oils, and water color. Her water colors were the best. later in life she began to develop her oil piantings in a style of impressionism. i'll put up an example of one of her last works ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This was done from a walkout on the local river which flows between my town and the main town. we went out that day and got very close to the aligators.

A Garden Club ~

Here's a picture of my mom and a gardening club that she was involved with many years ago. They worked to add trees, flowers, and plants that the birds would enjoy. It's now a bird
sancutary in the area ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  And, alot
of wildlife hangs around because of the planning that they did.

A Treehouse

Christmas gifts this year, i got direction for christmas this year. i think it's a good thing. All year long i've been having problems deciding things. deciding a direction, or a plan of action, or this thing or that. i decided i would write on an old memory of a treehouse. Long years ago, i had someone to build a treehouse. it wasn't in a tree, but it was made from trees i guess, lol, treated wood. i had of course two grandfathers, like most people. i thought it would be good if they could both work on building a treehouse. One of them of course was a builder and the other one kind of tinkered with things, lol. really i don't know what they did really other than read a bunch, like history and biographies, socialogy, current events and books on politics, etc.  But, so i had them build this tree house together. i thought it would be a good thing. They didn't get along at first. it almost didn't get built, lol, but with my help and words they agreed to not say anything to each other and just work. Lol, it worked. They built a tree house, in my back yard. it was a really good treehouse. it lasted for years and years. it's prob still there, lol, who knows really. i think in my mind it still is. it's owned by someone else now. but i think that was a good memory. it was a good example of teamwork for a greater cause, lol. Who wouldn't want a tree house? lol, so that's my treehouse story. i could tell you alittle about how it was designed and built. it was very rectangular. it had four strong beams that were set on metal pins which were set into the ground with concrete and sand, so that it would drain properly and not cause the main beams to suffer from water damage. it had one ladder, one main platform, a fireman's pole, and it had frame-working for a roof that you could climb up onto, and the sides were framed without walls so that it was open to the elements, underneath was just the grass under the treehouse with the shading from the main platform and was open with out walls as well.  it was about..7 or 8 feet high to the main platform. it might have been ten feet. i don't recall exactly. i was shorter then. lol. it was about two and a half people tall in all from the ground to the roof. it wasn't painted. i think it was sanded down and it prob had a rain repellant on it when it was first built. Mainly i remember it was just really well built. i really, really liked my fireman's pole! i think i remember i had requested that specifically when asked.
I'm so glad i had a tree house. the trees around us were all tall pine trees with no way to really build an actual tree house in them, not like most trees and tree houses. Oak trees, of course, are lower to the ground with large branches used to holding an actual tree house. i think that's about it for my treehouse story. Maybe i'll write some more stories here later, while i can. i'm not sure how long i'll keep my internet service going, i have some things i'm tackling this year. The word is "direct".  ~ until later ~

double eclipse of moon 2012 . . .

sometime between june and sept of this year, 2012, i saw a double eclipse. it was most likely a waxing or waning moon with a partial eclipse.
it was odd to see. it must have been anywhere between 8pm and 4am. i'm not sure which day it was yet or what month. i'm looking at moon calendars now to try and figure it out. but i thought i should document it here. i draw a picture of what i saw..

mornings evening ~ poem

sleeping with lights on as if the sun were may,
tells me of a future time when the sunlight always paid,
the evening was a steady in the morning's light of day,
i'll always sleep in the morning's light,
though evening, morning, or a sleepy hay.
